Emergency Info
On Call Phone Number – (208) 521-6752 (Text on the weekend or after hours)
Loose brackets or bands
Call us as soon as you can if you have a loose bracket or band, or a wire is poking. If you need to clip a wire in case of emergency, you can use fingernail clippers that have been washed and sterilized in alcohol. Please call our office the next business day, so that we may schedule an appointment for you.
Wire irritations
Sometimes discomfort caused by a wire can be lessened by covering it with a small amount of wax or sugarless gum. If the wire is painful, you can cut it with nail clippers that have been washed and sterilized in alcohol. If it still bothers you, call us for an appointment.
Lost separators
Don’t worry about losing a separator, but call us to see if it needs to be replaced.
Discomfort with orthodontic treatment
During the first week after you get your braces or after appointments, you may feel some soreness or tenderness. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen will help while you adjust to your braces. A warm wash cloth or heating pad may help with jaw soreness.
